Word has come from the land of the Danes: Hrothgar’s golden hall is being plagued by the monstrous troll Grendel. What they need is a hero, and Beowulf has answered the call.
Adapted from the Anglo-Saxon epic poem, this is the story of the English language’s first hero, retold in lyrical contemporary prose.
